James Chavanic, PE

Project Manager

Jim joined HFA in 2015 and has since been involved in a wide array of higher education projects ranging from design of large classroom/laboratory buildings to providing structural support during major renovations and upgrades to university athletics facilities.  With him also comes more than two years of structural engineering experience in the nuclear power services industry prior to joining HFA.  He is a highly detail-oriented person with experience designing using steel, reinforced concrete, post-tensioned concrete, and masonry.  He enjoys crafting solutions for complex problems by thinking outside of the box while respecting both the desired architecture and constructability of the design.  Jim holds Bachelor of Architectural Engineering and Master of Architectural Engineering degrees, both from Penn State.
