Nicole D. Baer, PE
Associate PrincipalNicole is a 2001 graduate of the Pennsylvania State University Architectural Engineering program. Her project experience ranges from single-story retail and residential structures to 30-story, multi-use structures, including rehabilitation, renovation and restoration projects. Throughout her career, she has had the opportunity to design both private and public sector projects. She currently works with Hope Furrer Associates in Towson, MD as a structural project manager. Nicole is an active member of the American Society of Civil Engineers and has served as a board member or coordinator for the organization’s Structural Engineering Institute Maryland Chapter for more than 10 years. She also serves on SEI’s Structures Congress planning committee as part of the National Technical Paper Review Committee, and she is the first chair of SEI’s Professional Community Executive Committee. She is a former member of SEI’s Local Activities Division Executive Committee. Nicole has been recognized as the ASCE-MD Young Engineer of the Year and has been an SEI Fellow since 2014. She regularly volunteers to run the Maryland Wood Bridge Challenge for high school students. She believes that supporting engineering and science students is a critical contribution all engineers should make.
