Morgan State University Thurgood Marshall Residence Hall
New, 233,000 SF, 10 story student housing facility with 40,000 SF dining facility on the University’s South Campus. Thurgood Marshall Hall will be a new campus hub for activity with 674 beds in semi-suite and apartment style configurations, individual and group study areas, as well as 24-hour dining with a full kitchen. Both the University and the design team are focused on enhancing student success with the creation of a vibrant new live/learn community that will “bring Morgan students home,” while enhancing the University’s south campus presence with graphics and branding elements. Thurgood Marshall Hall has been certified LEED Gold.
Shortly after completion of Thurgood Marshall Hall, work began on Phase 3 of Morgan’s housing initiative. The next phase includes a $100M, 400-bed, 9-story tower to be constructed adjacent to the recently completed Thurgood Marshall Hall, will add to the availability of campus housing options for Morgan students. The facility will also utilize the newly constructed dining facility in the same area of campus.
