Hope Furrer Associates is pleased to have designed the structure for 1812 Ashland Avenue in East Baltimore, and is thrilled to have been at the ribbon cutting ceremony on Monday November 28th. The ceremony included Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake, US Congressman Elijah Cummings, Maryland Senator Nathaniel McFadden, City Councilman Carl Stokes, Maryland Delegate Cheryl Glen, as well as the Johns Hopkins University President Ronald M. Daniels, JHU School of Medicine Dean Paul B. Rothman, Johns Hopkins Medicine Executive Vice President Ronald Peterson, and Chairman of East Baltimore Development Inc Thurman Zollifer, and Forest City New East Baltimore Partnership Senior Vice President Scott Levitan, as well as other distinguished guests.
The $65.6 million project is part of the 88-acre master plan being developed by East Baltimore Development Inc (EBDI). The seven-story concrete framed building includes 168,000 square feet of laboratory and office space and was developed to become an Innovation Hub for emerging and growing life science companies.
HFA is proud to add 1812 Ashland Ave. to the other successful East Baltimore projects for which they have provided Structural Engineering services. These include 855 North Wolfe St., 929 North Wolfe St. and the State of Maryland Public Health Lab.
