Representatives from Hope Furrer Associates attended the ribbon cutting ceremony for the newest addition to the University of Maryland, Baltimore BioPark, 4MLK. Sitting as a gateway to the UMB BioPark, this 8-story, 250,000 GSF multi-tenant lab and office building hopes to foster an influx of innovation and opportunity to Baltimore City and Maryland’s life science sector. Attendees at the ceremony were welcomed by remarks from Lieutenant Governor Aruna Miller, Mayor Brandon Scott, UMB President Bruce Jarrell and Ted Russel, CEO of Wexford Science & Technology who all praised the facility for being able to bring together, cutting-edge research, entrepreneurs, innovators and community engagement opportunities. When fully occupied, 4MLK will house the largest assembly of bioscience companies in the area, bringing close to 1,000 jobs to the Baltimore City campus. Hope Furrer Associates is proud to have worked with ZGF Architects and Whiting-Turner Contractors in the design and construction of this fabulous addition to the UMB BioPark.
