Stephanie Slocum was pleased to represent Hope Furrer Associates at the “Give Owners What They Want” presentation and panel discussion in St. Louis, MO sponsored by Advanced Solutions. The panel discussion was a result of HFA’s collaboration on the Penn State University East Halls project currently in design. In addition to Stephanie, speakers included members of the project team representing Clayco, Inc., Mackey Mitchell Architects, and Penn State University. Mackey Mitchell presented an overview of the East Halls project as a case study, followed by a presentation of how Penn State uses BIM to provide cost savings in facilities maintenance. Presentations were followed by a 45 minute panel discussion. As part of the panel discussion, the team discussed details of complying with Penn State’s BIM standards, Revit best practices, and tips for collaboration in the BIM process in order to meet the Owner’s needs. Stephanie really appreciated the opportunity to share her Penn State project BIM experiences with an audience of architects and owner’s representatives. Thank you to Advanced Solutions for sponsoring the presentation and Tomislav Zigo, Director of Virtual Design and Construction at Clayco, Inc. for the invitation to be part of the panel discussion.
