Hope Furrer Associates’ State College Office volunteered at the Pennsylvania Special Olympics Summer Games June 1-3, hosted on Penn State’s University Park campus.
Stephanie Slocum was HFA’s co-venue coordinator for tennis with Tom Flynn, Landscape Architect with PSU’s Campus Planning and Design. It is both inspiring and humbling to see the enthusiasm these athletes have for their respective sports. A lot of these athletes have overcome significant obstacles to compete here.
The Special Olympians have traditionally been housed in PSU’s East Halls housing complex, which is currently undergoing construction of two new dormitories and renovation of three dormitories. Hope Furrer Associates is honored to be a part of this ambitious landmark project which will transform student housing for the largest residence village on Penn State’s University Park main campus. For more information on the East Halls project including live camera feeds of Phase 1A and 1B, see http://housing.psu.edu/construction-and-renovations.
