The SEI Fellow Review Committee has approved Nicole Baer, P.E.’s application to become an SEI Fellow! She will be recognized for this distinction at the 2018 Structural Engineering Institute (SEI) Structures Congress to be held April 19-21, 2018 at the Ft. Worth Convention Center in Ft. Worth, TX.
The official list of requirements, as listed on the SEI website, include “active involvement in a local or national SEI committee or chapter” and “having a minimum of ten years of experience as a professional, licensed engineer doing important work in structural engineering.”
Nicole certainly meets these requirements. She is a founding member of the SEI Maryland Chapter, which had its first meeting in 2004. She attended several meetings after the first one, which eventually led to development of the Structural Engineering Institute, Maryland Chapter, which was recognized by SEI National. SEI-MD was one of only a few recognized chapters in the country at the time.
Ultimately, Nicole is honored as an SEI Fellow because she has shared her love for structural engineering with others, and it is as simple as that.
